Straight Line and Shape Edging

The following types of edgework are available both straight line and shape on all of the thicknesses of glass and mirror offered by Valley Bevelling. Different edgework may be applied to different edges on the same piece of glass or mirror.

Seam - A rough grind is applied to the top and bottom edges to remove the sharpness. This is not a decorative edge and is used primarily for safety purposes where the glass or mirror edge will not be visable.

Satin Flat Polish - The edge is finely ground straight and an arris is applied to the top and bottom. The finish has an opaque milky look and is used as a decorative edge when this appearance is required or when economy is important.

Satin Pencil Polish - The edge is finely ground with a slight curve. The finish has an opaque milky look and is used as a decorative edge when this appearance is required or when economy is important.

High Flat Polish - A highly polished straight edge is applied with a polished arris top and bottom. This is a glossy decorative finish commonly used for table tops and shelving.

High Pencil Polish - A highly polished edge with a slight radius. This is a glossy decorative finish commonly used for table tops and shelving.

Chipped Edge - Random vertical chips are applied to the edge for a dramatic glossy finish commonly used for table tops and shelving.

Rope Edge - Chips are applied to the edge alternately from the top and bottom. The resulting edge is an unusual decorative finish used for table tops.
